Washington Avenue Parking Benefits District
Washing Avenue Parking Benefits Districts (PBD) is an area in which a majority of the revenue generated from on-street parking meters along Washington Avenue will be returned to the district to finance neighborhood improvements. The district will be up and down Washington Avenue plus an additional street north and a street south. The city is aware that this will push more parking into our streets. Part of the PBD will include a parking permit program.
This is a complicated issue for us. The permit parking through the PBD is different than the residential permit parking that many of our streets, through their individual hard work, have obtained. Right now, we recommend the residential permit parking, but that is currently done one street at a time and the residents of the street must do the footwork and paperwork. The parking program through the PBD might get updated once the program gets rolling, and we may change our recommendation at that time. The civic club can provide help and direction for people interested in obtaining permit parking for their street, so please contact us.
