WHAT IS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT?
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. All fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide participate on the first Tuesday in August (Texas celebrates on the first Tuesday in October).

Many Rice Military (and surrounding) local businesses and restaurants take part in a variety of activities/exhibits such as, safety demonstrations, visits from emergency personnel—HPD and Precinct 1 Constable—face painting, a petting zoo for the little ones and much, much more. It's a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, sign up for the neighborhood security program and renew your civic club membership.
